Thankful for How Kids' Increase My Emotion
I have spent time in my life with very little emotion. This is a much better way!
Carrying around a lump of rock in my chest.
That’s kinda what it felt like sometimes.
Sure, I looked plenty happy on the outside.
But the emotion on the inside was all dull… hollow… and “stuck.”
Not everyone feels like that, I know.
But I have talked to a lot of people who have had an increase in emotion since having kids.
Or working with kids.
You name it!
Much of it happens on the negative side.
Increased anxiety. Increased stress.
Easier to be upset. Easier to be distressed.
Sad. Overwhelmed.
Kiddos can definitely expand the negative emotions that one can experience.
But it also happens on the positive side!
Joy. Excitement. Laughs. Love.
Accomplished. Content. Peace.
Even if we feel like we are wrestling with the negative emotions…
We are becoming more complete people!
Able to handle more of what life throws at us!
And emotions are like the colors that bring experiences to life!
I am thankful for the increase in emotions that my kiddos bring.
Rather than be focused on the negatives…
And blame them for my emotions.
I will work to control my emotions!
And remain thankful / positive / engaged.
So I can be a better example for these little ones too 😄
Have you seen an increase in emotions since having kids?
Is it easy to get stuck focusing on the negatives?
I would love to hear about it!
