Thankful for the Rain
Just singing in the rain? More like... running and having a blast!!
Indiscriminate giggles and shouts of joy
Stomping in the red clay/mud with dress shoes
“I don’t like when my dress is wet!!!”
(But I love playing in the rain…)
I mentioned in the last item (Heat and Humidity) that we have had a bit of a heat wave lately…
But then the rain and thunderstorms came!
And my-oh-my did the kiddos have a blast at the park in the rain.
I must admit that we were close to bailing on the picnic…
So don’t bail when the weather doesn’t look perfect!!
You may just have a super memorable time on an adventure!
There’s something about water.
The way it sploshes. And squishes. And cools things off.
Adults far too often look at a “dreary” or “rainy” day as less-than-ideal…
And sunny days as “beautiful.”
But aren’t they all beautiful?
All sun and no rain makes a desert, after all!!
Kiddos can resonate with that spirit much more easily.
Give them a bit of raw materials (i.e. a playground. toys. etc.)…
And the rain becomes a component of their adventure!
So I am thankful for the rain.
And I am thankful for watching kiddos playing in the rain!
It’s such a beautiful sight!
